Delicious dessert dip that's always a crowd pleaser

Yummy dip to serve with fresh fruit
Ingredients
Cream cheese. Let the cream cheese come to room temperature so it mixes together smoothly without lumps.
Brown sugar. Brown sugar adds that caramel molasses flavor to this caramel apple dip recipe. I like to use dark brown sugar, but light brown sugar will also work well.
Caramel sauce. You can use the caramel sauce you find in grocery stores or use homemade caramel sauce. I use caramel ice cream topping because it's thin enough to drizzle on top.
Cinnamon. A little bit of cinnamon adds warm, cozy flavor to this caramel dip recipe.
Cool Whip. The secret to super fluffy caramel apple dip is ½ tub of Cool Whip. You can also use Truwhip.
Roasted peanuts. Salty dry roasted peanuts are so yummy on caramel apples, they're also perfect on top of the caramel apple dip. Instead of nuts, you can use Heath toffee bits or Skor bits.
Mini chocolate chips. Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips add rich chocolatey flavor and a bit of crunch.
How to Make Caramel Apple Dip
With a stand or hand mixer, mix the cream cheese, brown sugar, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon together until smooth and creamy.
Fold in the Cool Whip until completely incorporated.
Chill until ready to serve.
Before serving, place the dip in a shallow serving bowl and drizzle caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle chopped roasted peanuts and mini chocolate chips over the caramel. If desired, add a sprinkle of sea salt.
Serve with sliced apples, pear slices, graham crackers, pretzels, or any of your favorite dippers.
Expert Tips
Use softened cream cheese so it easily combines with the rest of the ingredients without lumps.
Fold in the Cool Whip to keep the caramel apple cream cheese dip nice and fluffy. Over stirring Cool Whip can cause it to become runny.
FAQs
There are several methods that will keep the oxidation process at bay long enough to enjoy fresh apples. Here are two of my favorite ways.
Citrus juice. This is the one I have always relied on. Toss the apple slices in lemon, lime, or even orange juice, let them sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse them in a colander with tap water.
Salt. This is a great method to stop browning because I always have salt, but I don't always have a lemon. Dissolve ½ teaspoon of kosher salt per cup of water, soak cut apples for 5 minutes, and rinse them under running water.
For more methods to try like honey, lemon-lime soda, and citric acid, check out this article.
This delicious caramel apple dip recipe doesn't usually last long, but if you have leftovers, store them covered in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
