Why You'll Love This Recipe
With 2 simple ingredients and a few minutes, you can have homemade dark chocolate fudge!
Easy fudge recipe you can customize for the holiday season.
No bake fudge that requires no stirring, no candy thermometer.
Easy microwave condensed milk fudge recipe without marshmallows.
Ingredients
Dark chocolate chips. Because this is a two ingredient fudge recipe, use good quality chocolate. If you prefer, you can use semisweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips. Or make white chocolate fudge with white chocolate chips! A combo of 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate also makes a nice chocolate fudge.
Sweetened condensed milk. One 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk -- not evaporated milk. I've tried this with full-fat and non-fat sweetened condensed milk and couldn't tell the difference.
Step -by-Step Instructions
Line an 8 or 9 inch square baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil sprayed with cooking spray. To keep parchment paper from slipping around the pan, brush some butter into the pan first.
Place the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk into a medium microwave-safe bowl.
Heat on high in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each one, until the melted chocolate and warm condensed milk combine into a smooth and creamy mixture.
It takes me about one minute and 20 seconds in my 1000w microwave.
Pour mixture into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the top of the fudge mixture with a knife, rubber spatula, or offset spatula.
Cover with foil and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours until set.
How to Cut Fudge Cleanly
For easiest cutting, take the fudge out of the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before cutting. If the fudge is too cold, it can be hard to cut through and can splinter when cut.
Remove the entire slab of fudge from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut the slab into 1 to 1 ½ inch strips, wiping down the blade between cuts, if necessary. Cut each strip into squares.
How to Store & Freeze 2-Ingredient Dark Chocolate Fudge
Store 2 ingredient dark chocolate fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks or in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
To freeze fudge, wrap it tightly in wax paper, again in aluminum foil, and place it in a freezer bag. Freeze for a couple of months.
Recipe Variations
Use this simple recipe for 2-ingredient fudge as a starting point to create your own delicious fudge creations.
Salt. A little salt will enhance the flavors of the chocolate. You can also sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top of the fudge.
Butter. Add a couple tablespoons of butter when you melt the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk together. It makes it even smoother and creamier.
Vanilla extract. A teaspoon of vanilla extract makes chocolate taste even better.
Other flavor extracts. Introduce new flavors by adding a little bit of your favorite flavor extracts like almond, peppermint, orange, coconut, or maple.
Stir-ins and toppings. Add your favorite stir-ins and toppings like nuts, fruit, crushed candy canes, peanut butter cups, chopped up candy bars, or festive sprinkles.
Expert Tips
Warm the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk just until everything is melted together. Do not boil.
Let the fudge cool completely before cutting.
Because there are only two ingredients in this easy chocolate fudge recipe, use high quality chocolate -- you'll be able to taste the difference.
