Store plain angel food cakes wrapped in plastic wrap or an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or in the refrigerator for up to one week. Store angel food cakes with fruit in the fridge.
First, make sure the cake is completely cooled. Run a thin knife around the edge of the cake and lift out the center section of the pan. Run a knife around the bottom of the pan and then the center tube. Remove the center section of the pan. Serve the cake right-side up with the craggy top showing, or upside down for a smoother top.
