Cinnamon Applesauce Overnight Oats is a cozy bowl of comfort with a creamy texture and rich, warm flavor. Stir it together before you go to bed, so the next morning, you can just get up and add your favorite toppings for a satisfying and delicious breakfast.
½ cupoats old fashioned oats or quick steel-cut oats (see notes)
½cup almond milk
½ - 1teaspooncinnamonto taste
⅛teaspoonvanilla
pinchsalt
optional toppings: chopped apples, granola, pure maple syrup
Instructions
In a mason jar or resealable bowl, combine ¼ cup applesauce, oats, almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Stir until completely combined. Cover and set in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight.
Before serving, swirl in ¼ cup more applesauce and add desired toppings.
Notes
Add cinnamon to taste. Start with ½ teaspoon and adjust from there.
For the most applesauce flavor, divide the applesauce as directed between the oat mixture and topping. However, if you prefer, you can also add the full ½ cup of applesauce to the oat mixture.
If you use quick cooking steel-cut oats, you may need to add up to ¼ cup more water. You can check it before eating and adjust as needed.
