Slow Cooker Maple Bourbon Glazed Ham

Chipotle maple bourbon glazed ham in the slow cooker is THE  juiciest ham.  And the maple bourbon brown sugar mixture boils down to a gorgeous sweet-spicy lacquer-like glaze.

– Bone-in ham – Dark brown sugar – Maple syrup – Dijon mustard – Bourbon – Chipotle peppers

 Ingredients

Trim the rind off of the ham. That's the thick leathery skin. It's easy to remove with a knife or your hands.

Score the ham into diamonds. This will give the glaze plenty of places to penetrate the fat layer.

Mix the brown sugar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, bourbon, and chipotle peppers together.

Place the ham in the slow cooker and spread 1/2 of the glaze over it. Cook on low for 1 1/2 hours.

Add remaining glaze and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 more hours or until the ham reaches 140 degrees. Remove ham and set on cutting board to rest.

Pour the juices into a sauce pan. Heat over medium to a boil, reduce and simmer for 20 minutes or until it makes a glossy glaze.

Spoon the glaze over the ham. Serve and enjoy!
